Endowment Growth

Providing sustainability by becoming less dependent on tuition.
GA’s endowment is a carefully planned, long-term investment. As its base grows in support of GA in many ways, it also provides critical annual spending that our school needs. Increasing our endowment will provide additional funds each year for faculty compensation and financial aid in perpetuity.

Endowment Growth
The sooner we grow our endowment, the sooner we can fund valued programs and provide a solid foundation for future financial stability.

教师 Compensation
The educators at Germantown Academy are essential to our culture of excellence. 教师 create the student experiences that define GA and shape the future of students’ lives. Endowment support places GA teachers, their work, and their passion for innovation as a top priority. 在一起, we must strengthen our commitment to faculty compensation so that highly qualified individuals continue to contribute their extraordinary teaching talents to benefit GA students.
To remain a preeminent independent school, GA faculty salaries need to remain competitive or exceed those of our peers.
GA’s faculty compensation should appropriately reflect the tremendous impact of our educators. Our financial commitment will allow our teachers to pursue their intellectual passions, bring new perspectives, and continually hone their craft of teaching.
金融援助
Financial support allows the most talented students of all backgrounds to come together and achieve excellence at GA. Increased demand for financial aid is a trend impacting independent schools everywhere and presents a major budgetary pressure. Our commitment to financial aid is essential—because when every promising student has the ability to join the GA community, everyone grows stronger.
Our goal is to roughly triple the portion of GA’s annual financial aid budget funded by endowment.
The need for financial aid among GA applicants has nearly doubled over the last decade. Increased endowment funding will help GA meet this need and minimize tuition increases.
Currently, we cannot always remove financial barriers from the enrollment decision. 每年, 10 to 15 highly qualified students unfortunately are not able to attend GA because we do not have sufficient aid.
We were resolved to make a GA education available to more children and decided to establish an endowed scholarship. It is our hope that our three daughters will continue our GA legacy, both by becoming fully engaged community members as students and by growing this endowment throughout their lives.”

What is GA’s endowment?
The endowment is a carefully managed group of funds. It is designed to keep the principal amount intact while using the investment income to improve the Germantown Academy education and experience. Increasing the principal of our endowment—so more interest can be earned—depends solely on contributions from our community.
How does the endowment support the two objectives of faculty compensation and financial aid?
Gifts to the endowment allow our investment to grow and in turn provide GA more financial resources to support the school’s needs.
