Varsity Girls Water Polo
The best part of coaching at GA is the connections that the athletic community creates. These connections are numerous. Coaches and student-athletes work together to help achieve more than they ever thought possible. Student-athletes come together and achieve more because they know they are representing their teammates, fellow students, and teachers. Coaches work together in the hopes of success across the board in athletics. The student body and teachers come out to cheer and support their fellow classmates and colleagues on game day. Athletics at GA provide a truly amazing opportunity for the community to come together.

Michael KoziolHead Coach
Mike Koziol enters his fifth season as Head Coach of the girls water polo team. Koziol, the Assistant Director of Aquatics at GA, also is the head coach of the Boys Water Polo program.
In 2023, the team finished 9-6 and took second place at the Beast of the East Tournament.
In 2022, the Patriots finished 2-10 overall.
Koziol is an alumnus of Wissahickon High School where he was a key contributor to the most successful water polo class in school history, making the state tournament all four years, including a fourth place finish his senior year. He also swam while at Wissahickon.
Koziol attended DePaul University in Chicago, and as a student coached a swim team and founded the water polo program at the High Ridge YMCA. Under Koziol's guidance, the water polo program tripled in size in three years and he coached the first player from a Chicago YMCA to be selected to the USA Water Polo Olympic Development program.
Over the years, Koziol has coached at the club level with Trojan Aquatics, NXT, Philly Select, and Maverick Water Polo. He has also led or assisted a number of camps or workshops all over the country, including a camp at the United States Naval Academy.
