Jesse Carey '09

Carey was a five-year member of the GA girls basketball team and a four year starter. In addition to garnering many individual awards, Carey finished her high school career with an undefeated record against Inter-Ac League opponents.

Sean Coyle (Germantown Academy/Boston Red Sox)

Sean Coyle '10 was a five-year varsity baseball player for the Patriots and helped GA win a share of the Inter-Ac League title and two state titles during his career. Coyle went on to play pro baseball for seven years.

Tommy Coyle (Germantown Academy/University of North Carolina)

Tommy Coyle '09 was a four-year started for the Patriots and finished his GA career with 168 hits, including 70 extra base hits. He was named First Team All-Inter-Academic League all four years. He went on to star at UNC before playing in the Tampa Rays Minor League system.

Otis Ellis '85

In just three season, Ellis did enough on the basketball court to be ranked top five in career scoring, rebounding, steals and assists. He went on to play at Lafayette College where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995.

Dan Flack '83

A 12-time National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association All-American, Flack was also a 12-time Inter-Ac League Champion, and an Easterns Interscholastic Swimming Champion. He was also the first junior swimmer to place at the USA Swimming Nationals.

Alex Henry '86

At GA, Henry was named All-Inter-Ac in soccer, but made his mark playing lacrosse where he was All-American, won the Inter-Ac and other individual awards before playing at Franklin & Marshall College.

Jennifer Hoy '09

Hoy concluded her high school soccer career with an impressive 110 goals and 46 assists, earning accolades such as 2008 ESPN RISE High School Girls Soccer Third-Team All-America, NSCAA Regional All-America, and a three-time Inter-Ac League MVP. She was also named 2009 EPYSA Player of the Year, achieved All-State and All-Southeastern Pennsylvania selections, led her team to a national top-25 ranking her senior season, and won the 2009 U-18 US Youth Soccer national title with her club team, FC Bucks Vipers, while excelling in track with All-League and All-State honors.

Amanda Jones

Amanda Jones '08 was a three-year varsity letterwinner in both lacrosse and field hockey during her three-year Upper School career at GA. For her efforts on the lacrosse field, she was twice named First Team All-America.

Denis Kane '93

Kane captained the football and basketball teams at GA while earning Football Offensive Player of the Year, All-Philadelphia Second Team and All-Time Germantown Academy in the last 20 years for football.

Eugene Leoni '78

At Germantown Academy, Leoni competed in football, track, wrestling and winter track and earned All-Inter-Ac honors in football and wrestling. Leoni is a member of the Inter-Ac Champsionship for the first time in modern times.

Dave Martin

For close to 40 years, Dave Martin 1760 has been a familiar face on GA’s sideline. Since 1984, he has served as a girls volleyball, golf, and football coach. Most, though, will know Martin from the many years he has served as a head coach and assistant coach for GA boys lacrosse teams.

Susan Bowen McKay '76

Bowen McKay earned 11 Varsity letters in field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse, and she captained all three teams as a senior. In addition to her achievements at GA, she competed in squash and golf, becoming the Huntingdon Valley Country Club Girls Champion in both sports in 1975, and received awards including the William David Lyons '46 Memorial Cup, the Blazer Pin Award, and the Osbourn Memorial Medal.

Joseph Mirabile '02

Mirabile earned seven GA Varsity Tennis letters and was a three-time captain and MVP. His achievements include winning the Inter-Ac Championship at 1st Singles in 2002 and multiple runner-up finishes at various singles positions from 1997 to 2001, as well as claiming the Inter-Ac Championship at 3rd Singles in 1998.

Simolike

Goalkeeper David Simolike '05 started every varsity game of his four-year career at GA and helped lead GA soccer to national recognition. During that time, the Patriots were nationally ranked and won the Inter-Ac League title twice.

Rachel Zilinskas '13

An 11-time Easterns Champion and three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Zilinskas graduated with school records in the 500 free, 200 free, and 400 free relay, and set the Easterns record in the 500 free (4:40.04). A team captain in 2009-2010, they anchored the 400-yard freestyle relay that broke the National High School record in 2010, represented the United States at the 2011 World Junior Swimming Championships with a gold and silver medal, competed in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, and earned top finishes in the U.S. Open Water and National Swimming Championships.
