Position Purpose: Reporting to the Director, an afternoon Teacher Aide will assist full-time teachers in a variety of classrooms as needed.  We are seeking qualified, experienced candidates for the position of Child Care Part-Time Afternoon Teacher Aide. This is a 10-month position which offers a highly competitive salary.   The hours for the position are approximately 1:00pm – 5:30pm (start time can be flexible and may vary).

Key Responsibilities

  1. A Teacher Aide will assist and implement afternoon activities of the group under the guidance and direction of the Group Supervisor and/or Assistant Group Supervisor.
  2. He or she is responsible for the health, safety and care of the children enrolled in the child care center, which includes but is not limited to feeding meals and snacks, potty training, changing diapers and any other bathroom needs, washing hands and faces to ensure the cleanliness of the children.
  3. He or she will help with dismissal duties.

Qualifications:

A Teacher Aide must possess the minimum of:

  1. A high school diploma or a GED certificate
  2. Two years of experience with children

In addition, a teacher aide must be warm and enjoy working with young children.  He or she must be willing to assist the children in all aspects of their personal care and hygiene, proper nutrition and interactions with other children.  Working cooperatively with other members of the Child Care team is necessary for the well-being and safety of the children.
